Ronaldo scores twice as Real Break Champions League Record

Cristiano Ronaldo made history on Saturday as he scored two goals to help Real Madrid to a 4-1 win over Juventus in the 2017 UEFA Champions League final With the win, Real Madrid became the first ever team to win the Champions League in successive years in this era.

Zinedine Zidane’s men also created history with this win which was also the club’s first ever Champions League – La Liga double since 1958.

Ronaldo gave Real Madrid the lead in the 20th minute when he found the bottom corner with a first time finish off Carvajal’s cutback. That moment was historic in itself as Ronaldo became the first player to score in three different finals.

Juventus went on to equalise seven minutes later when Mario Mandzukic scored a stunning overhead kick to leave the game in the balance at half-time.

However, Real Madrid came smoking in the second half as Casemiro saw his hopeful long ranger take a deflection and beat Buffon.

A few minutes later, Ronaldo bagged his brace with a neat side-footed finish at the near post after Modric’s cutback. Marco Asensio applied the finishing touches late on to make it 4-1.
